Tell me a bit about where you’re from, how’d you get into making music, and anything else you feel people should know about people.?
I was born in russia and moved to vancouver when i was 6. I didn’t really get into music until i was around 10 when i got a drum set for christmas and that kinda started everything for me.
You’re coming up on a year of releasing music. How long did you spend making music behind the scenes, and when did you know you had something ready to share?
I started producing when I was 11, just messing around with my laptop and a guitar, so i’ve had a lot of time to have fun with it and try different things. I didn’t put out any of my own music until after i started producing for artists. I made a lot of music that was too unique of a sound for anyone else, so i started putting that out.

Who are some artists or sources of media that have inspired your work the most?
Kevin Parker has probably been my biggest inspiration in terms of production and songwriting, but I get a lot of inspiration from many different mediums. Anything that sparks an emotion.
Walk me through your creative process. How does something go from an idea or feeling into a complete song for you?
I make music very differently every time. Sometimes ideas come from just messing around until i find something i like. other times it could be a new place that inspires an idea, it could really be anything. When I have something im happy with i get in a rhythm.
Do any one of your songs in particular hold special value? If so, which one, and what’s the backstory behind it?
All my songs are special to me in different ways, a lot of them i associate with different periods in my life but i can’t say one holds more value. I have a special connection to each one of them.
A lot of your songs have this sort of dark fantasy vibe to them, and it seems you leaned into it even more with the Molasses visualizer. What can you tell us about the creative decisions behind that song and the video?
I work very closely with my director, Kiefer O’reilly, on every video. the video for Molasses was an idea we came up with just listening to the song and building a world around it. I love the fairy tale type of stories so i try incorporate that aspect into my videos.
What is next for people.?
I’m currently working on an ep which will come out very soon and we got a lot more videos coming out that i’m very excited about.
